Freaking GoDaddy

Ok…so I was dumb. I erred and mistakenly deleted the WordPress database on thekmiecs.com. For those not in the know, that basically means ALL the content for the site was lost. I didn’t panic, because I assumed that GoDaddy had a database restore option in the control panel. Not so much. So I call GoDaddy technicaly support and explain my situation. They say, no problem we can restore the database remotely. I breathe a sigh of relief. However, she says, it will take 5 days to complete. Bummer, but hey better than nothing. Then she says, and THERE WILL BE A $150.00 charge to restore the database. I’m ticked of course, but don’t have an option. Fine, I say.

So I wait…and wait…and wait. I trade many emails back and forth with tech support, who by the way really is fantastic, and finally got the site back up.

I think GoDaddy’s customer service handled the situation poorly. They didn’t set my expectations; when I expressed dismany and questioned the situation they just passed me off and essentially told me tough.

The lesson learned here is back up your database.

The TSA is Out of Control AGAIN

This time they decided to contaminate someone’s feeding tube. Full story here.

The feeding tube is clear, the plastic bag is clear, so I don’t get why they needed to open the bag. This is complete insanity and utterly stupid.

Freaking 9/11 Pseudo Ads

DDB just doesn’t get it. How can this possibly be a good ad? The concept that the Towers are the same as cigarette’s or that the 2 could even remotely be compared/contrasted is just re-damn-diculous. Now look, I’m all for making a point and I don’t mind offending someone. But, this just crosses a line in my book. You be the judge.

You Wouldn’t Have This 10 Years Ago

This is what makes the internet so wonderful. Once you do something, however big or small, it literally becomes public record. Also, this is a great example of why public proposals are a seriously bad idea.
