Brady comes out firing…blanks that is

I mean ripples still being felt today. Tom Petty? Look I dig Mr. Petty as much as the next guy, but honestly, how is he even remotely relevant today? Classic safe choice.

If Teflon Tom Brady is supposed to be the best, why is he sucking so bad right now? 1 fumble and 5 for 11. Here’s the deal; when you get pressure on the QB it changes the game.

Can’t blame that one on Eli. If the ball hits you in the hands you better catch it. C’mon Steve Smith.

I base this nothing other than looking at him on the field. The guys just looks like he’s on the juice.

Like really good. He predicted at the beginning of the season that he’d win all 4 majors and given the way he’s playing lately I have no reason to doubt he’ll do it. What I can’t get is why people talk smack about him; like Rory Sabatini. If we’ve learned anything in life it’s don’t poke a tiget.

With 7,000 hours of pregame coverage. I love how people are trying to give Tom Brady all the credit for Patriots getting to this Super Bowl, being on the verge of perfection, and of course the other Super Bowl wins. Last time I checked football was a team sport. It’s completely bogus that Brady got the MVP. The only reason he and Patriots are where they are is because of Moss. If you really look at it; he, not Tom, is the difference maker. Last year, Brady was on the Patriots and had NO receivers. Where did the Patriots go? Nowhere. This year, they get arguably the best WR in the league and they go tot he Super Bowl…hmmm.

Used to love Bill Simmons. Thought his columns had that unique blend of real journalism and fan based/centric attitude. I’ve bought his books, recommended his column, and was a frequent reader of his work.

Bill’s Red Sox columns were always brilliant, because they had real journalism credentials mixed with the passion of a die hard sox fan. As much as Bill wanted to be all Sox all the time; he maintained a level of integrity and was just a fan boy. He called a spade a spade and I loved him for it, even though I’m an Atlanta Braves fan.

But, this year, Bill went off the wagon and lost me as a reader and fan. It’s one thing to be a fan, it’s another thing to be blinded by it. His love for tha Patriots clouded is ability to think clearly and deliver authentic journalism. He dismissed spy-gate, gave ad admitted HGH user a pass, and indicated there was nothing wrong with the Pats running up the score. A real journalist wouldn’t and couldn’t look past these things.

Bill, it’s one thing to be a fan in the books your write. But, when you represent ESPN, you have to show just a little bit of integrity. For that reason and that reason alone…I’m done with Bill.

I’m looking forward to my Giants kicking your team’s ass.
